It was after the fierce battle with demons that Indra lost some part of his kingdom but managed to save the earth he arrived on his beautiful Airawat with a dull face asking for help from the mighty king Sun. Sun looked at Indra, but this was normal as Indra was never a Joyful burden by the responsibilities of the universe. Smiling, lord Sun looked at Indra and said, ” King, you signed up for this; you cannot be the king without these sacrifices; you need to burn yourself and then also people will complain that you are not doing enough; you did your best at most difficult times, You can do all the good, but people who have to look negative will always complain, so don’t worry.”
Indra replied yes, I know, but I don’t think I will be able to manage this stress anymore, so I want to give up, Listening to this, Sun advised him that he had recently finished a great battle and displayed an excellent show of managing resources. You have earned to be a King. Unfortunately, you lost some part of heaven, but that is all right; good and evil are part of nature, Be open to learning from mistakes but for the time res(Uttraphalguni nakshatra- A king has to prove by his abilities why he is the King while Hast nakshatra is about managing your resources well and having a vision in the most challenging times.)
I think it’s time that you should take a break and rest at your new palace as you have lost your palace to demons now, This was a dilemma for Indra as to how I can go and live amongst common people in a palace constructed by Vishwakarma but it is not completed due to lack of resources.
(Vishwakarma is the deity of Chitra nakshatra, which lies half in Virgo and half in Libra- Virgo is the sign of materials and earthy resources)
Sun being a strict and disciplined King, advised Indra to let the palace remain half open and ask help from Vayu (Swati Nakshatra) as Vayu is a friend of Indra – Indra looked confused and amazed by this suggestion as to how thin air can help in completing the rest of palace but couldn’t dare to ask Sun twice so summoned Vayu to his court and narrated him the problem and solution offered by Sun.
Vayu smiled and said that although I still don’t have any material resources, I can help you fill these gaps in your construction as you are looking at it as an incomplete structure. I look at it as an open window, and Vayu changed the complete thought process of Indra as Vayu is in charge of the thought process and how we interpret material things in our life. For some people, iPhone matters most, and for some, it is reading this blog and getting happiness even if it is on 5 yr old phone. It is only a thought process which makes you feel good or bad about something.
The deeper meaning of this passage is that it does not matter how much money or resources you have. You will always feel that it’s not enough until and unless you have clarity of thoughts on what makes you happy or satisfied.
Indra looked at this palace as a unique one now as now when he looked, it was a combination of trees, open sky and his bed in the middle of it; this was the most beautiful palace ever made from a variety of nature and modern art where there is a lot of open space, but still, there was one problem of too much of Sunlight was making this place hot. Indra requested Surya if he could help with this.
Sun agreed and said I will be at my lowest point in the zodiac and will not be bright or hot for your open space – This was the place of Libra in the Zodiac.
The king used the same half-open palace to spend time with queens, but being naked in the open with queens made agni angry towards Indra as Agni appeared in front of the king, reminding him that he was a king and that being naked in the open is against nature and protocol of King. Secondly, he is visible naked to everyone, and people will stop respecting him in the morning if every night they can see him without clothes; at the same time, Indra Justifies that even nature belongs to him. This is the nature of Vishaka nakshatra (Indraagni), two opposite forces fighting each other, justifying they are correct from their own point of view. At the same time, Indra argued that this is how he has lived till now in heaven as well. Still, since now it is captured by devils, this is the time that everyone can see me as I am fallen from the place and live amongst ordinary people.
Vishaka nakshatra and their flip side of personal and private life should be kept entirely separate at the same time; any crime against nature just because you own a piece of land, you can cut a tree or not keep windows closed correctly- I have seen this with Vishaka nakshatra natives that their bedroom usually has large windows or no doors, the habit of showing affection to partner in front of kids, relatives is too common and should be avoided at every cost.
Indra and Agni went to Surya for a solution; Sun listened to both and said both were right, from his own point of view, and Surya advised Indra that a King should not forget that he is a King at all times. Due to the space, he is living in. My temperature is low, and the Agni inside him has gone vanished. That is why he is behaving in such a manner to regain your kingdom; you should fast on Shasti Tithi as even when I am in the lowest state, on Shashti tithi, I can restore your original position as king as when you will fast the Agni inside you will flare up to give you best ideas on how to regain the kingdom.
Sun assured that anyone who fasted on this day would return to his original nature as Pandavs were born kings but were in exile. Hence, Maa Draupadi fasted on Shasti Tithi in Karthik Mass, and Pandavs regained their kingdom; Nandi fasted on this tithi to get his position of Shiv door guard and power back.
If you want to know the true nature of who you are, as when the Sun is transiting Libra, you should fast on Shasti Tithi and light a lamp in the evening SE corner of the house.

It came when i was feeling very low, burnt up and was thinking if its ok to take a break. But it wud mean pulling back from every thing.
This gave me hope and happiness and allowed me decide to take abreak ftom every thing. We often are in continious turmoil nothing seem to end or have a desired result. But one must be happy with the prrsent and allow ourselves to be as it is and appreciate it.

What is date of Shasta tithi?
I don’t know which part of India, you are from. You can go to Drik panchang and give your location. It shows. Tamil people celebrate Sasthi tidhi this month as Soora samharam. But tamilians prefer to celebrate this where Panchami tidhi in the morning and Sasti tidhi in the evening or the whole day Sasthi tidhi should be there. I think for this Chat puja after sunrise Sasti tidhi should be there.

Going forward every year when sun is in Libra I will fast on Shasti thiti. Pranam for sharing the Divine knowledge.

Pranam Sir. Nicely explained the tattvas through this story. I am an air sign and keep pumping people up by trying to change their perspective. Look at it like this and so on. Can I just lamp in the Southeast corner? I was doing Pooja and fasting on Nagula Chavithi (2 days before and 1 day before chat puja. As1 day before Soora samharam( generally celebrated with the day sasti in the evening or complete day Sasti tidhi). This time Panchami and Sasti combined and I fasted on that day. So I just gave arghya to Surya and did a simple morning pooja to Shiva Subramanya and Surya. I ate outside food (onion and garlic) . Can I light Diya in the evening(SE corner)? If so which oil or ghee?
